New Year, New Banner – Banner Real Estate Group Revealed and Celebrated!

When Banner Apartments, LLC was formed in 1989, the focus and mission of the business was to acquire and manage stabilized conventional and affordable apartment communities.  And we did just that.  Banner has held properties from Texas to North Carolina providing superior service and exceptional living environments for countless residents.   Throughout the years, we  saw tremendous growth and, ultimately, a shift in our efforts.  Banner began developing new apartment communities and self-storage assets across the country augmenting the day to day drastically.

As of today, Banner has acquired and operated 48 multi-family properties, and has developed 19 self-storage facilities and apartment communities, collectively worth over $1.2 billion.  To recognize this feat, a change was deemed appropriate to reflect the company evolution.

On February 9, 2017, members of our Northbrook office, Lisle office and regional management came together to celebrate the reveal of our new company branding.

2016 Shop Scores End With A Bang!

Enclave at Winghaven – O’Fallon, Missouri: Enclave at Winghaven received a perfect 100% total and benchmark score on their October 2016 shop! The shopper said that the leasing consultant was very cheerful, yet professional…made the tour all about me and my family…did her best to personalize the tour…gave a great description of the features…focused on what I said was important…convinced me I would be happy living there…made me feel like I was her priority…I would have rented the apartment at the Enclave at Winghaven based on the leasing consultant’s presentation!

Glen Hills Apartments – Glendale, Wisconsin: Glen Hills received a total score of 99.5% and a benchmark score of 100% on their September 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was very upbeat, positive, and excited about the property…she instilled a very positive atmosphere…was a great communicator…was confident in herself and the property…was very easy to talk to and was relatable…it was a great experience…based on the leasing associate’s presentation, I would have leased at Glen Hills!

The Greenway at Carol Stream – Carol Stream, Illinois: The Greenway at Carol Stream received a total score of 97% and a benchmark score of 100% on their October 2016 shop. The shopper said the leasing consultant had a warm and friendly manner…was organized and prepared for my visit…was welcoming and left me with a very positive impression…she did a good job tailoring the tour to what was important to me…was really focused on assisting me…I would have leased an apartment at The Greenway at Carol Stream based on the leasing consultant’s presentation!

Summermill at Falls River – Raleigh, North Carolina: Summermill at Falls River received a total score of 96.5% and a benchmark score of 100% on their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was extremely outgoing and enthusiastic in her presentations…her energy was high and was extremely positive…worked hard to make the tour personal…did a good job throughout my phone and in-person visit…was warm and personable…overall, an excellent presentation…yes, I would have leased at Summermill at Falls River based on the leasing associate’s presentation!

The Meadows Apartments – Lenexa, Kansas: The Meadows Apartments received a total score of 96.5% and a benchmark score of 100% on their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was very friendly and professional…was very enthusiastic and informative…was highly detailed during the presentation….was nice and genuine…made sure I was satisfied with what they had to offer…based on the leasing associate’s presentation, I would have leased at The Meadows Apartments!

Villagebrook Apartments – Carol Stream, Illinois: Villagebrook received a total score of 96% and a benchmark score of 100% in their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing consultant came off as friendly and upbeat…was very willing to help me find an apartment…was very engaging and sold my needs…was also professional…I enjoyed my tour very much…she asked good questions and we had good conversations…she did an excellent job and was also an excellent leasing consultant…I could see myself leasing at Villagebrook based on the leasing consultant’s presentation!

Ansley Falls – Charlotte, North Carolina: Ansley Falls received a total score of 95.5% and a benchmark score of 100% in their September 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was very positive and upbeat…had a warm and friendly demeanor…was very easy to talk to…was knowledgeable and showed interest in helping me…was assertive, but not pushy…really highlighted what I said was important…had a positive attitude…I would have leased an apartment from the leasing associate at Ansley Falls, based on her presentation!

Glen Hills Apartments – Glendale, Wisconsin: Glen Hills received a total score of 95.5% and a benchmark score of 100% on their November 2016 shop! The shopper said leasing associate was upbeat, professional, and very knowledgeable…was welcoming and made me feel comfortable…was super informative on the details…very enthusiastic about the community…based on the leasing associate’s presentation, I would have leased at Glen Hills Apartments!

Residences at Fountain Square – Waukegan, Illinois: Residences at Fountain Square received a total score of 93% and a benchmark score of 100% in their November 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was a seasoned professional…did a great job selling the community…seemed genuinely interested in helping me…was thorough and very informative…matched features and amenities with our needs…was professional and had a positive, caring attitude…I would have leased at the Residences at Fountain Square based on the leasing associate’s presentation!

The Wellington at Willow Bend – Plano, Texas: The Wellington at Willow Bend received a total score of 91% and a benchmark score of 100% in their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing consultant’s overall attitude was positive…did great at trying to inspire me to lease…showed enthusiasm about the community…made an excellent impression…focused on my needs and what I said was important…effectively created urgency…gave a detailed presentation…I would have leased at The Wellington at Willow Bend based on the leasing consultant’s presentation!

Tradition at Stonewater – Cary, North Carolina: Tradition at Stonewater received a total score of 90.5% and a benchmark score of 100% on their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing consultant was warm and inviting…seemed genuinely interested in helping me…really tried to accommodate my needs…created a nice rapport…was very knowledgeable about the community…came across as talented at her job…yes, I would have leased an apartment at Tradition at Stonewater based on the leasing consultant’s presentation! 

Emerald Pointe Apartments – Vernon Hills, Illinois: Emerald Pointe Apartments received a total score of 90% and a benchmark score of 100% on their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was very pleasant and sincere…seemed very enthused about the community…was very willing to help with meeting my needs…was knowledgeable and promoted the advantages of living there…effectively promoted the location and improvements of the community…I was motivated to lease from the leasing associate based on her presentation!

The Residences at Fountain Square – Waukegan, Illinois: The Residences at Fountain Square received a total score of 90% and a benchmark score of 100% in their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing consultant had a great attitude…gave a very positive first impression…she was closing throughout the entire tour…she was an amazing closer…she made the community seem like the right place to live…she sold my needs…did a great job building rapport…gave a nice presentation…I would have leased at The Residences at Fountain Square based on the leasing consultant’s presentation!

Stonewood Village Apartments – Madison, Wisconsin: Stonewood Village received a total score of 90% and a benchmark score of 100% in their November 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing consultant was friendly and professional…overall attitude and impression was a positive one…had a genuine concert for my needs…great willingness to assist me…based on the leasing consultant’s presentation, I would have leased at Stonewood Village!

Westview Apartments – St. Joseph, Michigan: Westview Apartments received a total score of 94.5% and a benchmark score of 90% on their October 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing associate was very pleasant…was informative about the community…highlighted all the positive advantages of living at the community…was very good at creating urgency…had great communication skills…was detailed and conveyed information with enthusiasm and passion…based on the leasing associate’s presentation, I would have leased at Westview!

Stonewood Village Apartments – Madison, Wisconsin: Stonewood Village received a total score of 93% and a benchmark score of 90% on their September 2016 shop! The shopper said the leasing consultant was friendly and calm…she really made me feel welcome…was careful and patient with me…really highlighted the benefits of living there…was warm and welcoming….was straight forward, but didn’t make me feel rushed…I would have leased at Stonewood Village based on the leasing consultant’s presentation!

The Westview residents enjoyed their very first pool party and a renewed loyalty to Westview. Even though she was overwhelmed with training and getting up to speed on her one-person property this summer, Patricia made hosting a resident party a priority.     • “This quarter David has really proved to me that he is willing to move out of his comfort zone to become a stronger technician, and to prepare himself for advancement opportunities. He has been an extremely strong asset to the team in his daily tasks, and also has taken advantage of an opportunity with the Triangle Apartment Association in their Leadership and Development program. David is the only participant from the service side of our industry that has ever participated, and the only one currently enrolled. When he first joined he was hesitant that he would want to complete the program due to the level of commitment for assignments outside of work and the amount of public speaking that would be involved. He overcame his fears and will be finishing in November with flying colors. The class presenter was very impressed with David and gave him accolades in front of the class and members of the Triangle Apartment Association. David has been with Banner for many years, but I believe in this quarter he has pushed his limits and stepped out of his comfort zone to grow, which is exactly what the RAVE awards are about.”

She’s the TOPs – We are proud of Azalea!

Each year the Triangle Apartment Association holds the TOPs awards.  It’s that time to recognize all that we have accomplished at our communities and praise the “tops” among their peers.  This year, Azalea Perkins Chriss, the Assistant Property Manager of Tradition at Stonwater in Cary, NC, won Assistant Property Manager of the year!
She won in the biggest category, with 12 nominees! The awards were the biggest ones yet for the Triangle Apartment Association, with 470 attendees, and Tradition had nominees in 3 categories. She was a wonderful representative for our property and for Banner and made our whole region proud!

You Can’t Beat BANNER! We’re Maintenance Maniacs

The Banner Maintenance teams are a force to be reckoned with!  After two years of sending Robert Mooney from the Enclave at Winghaven to nationals, the St Louis Maintenance Teams continue to shut out the competition.  Top 3 Overall was BANNER BANNER BANNER!  Each repair category was won by a Banner employee.  We are so proud of our teams and the hard work they put in to this competition as well as the attention to our residents.  Way to go!
