The Lincoln Apartments in downtown Raleigh, NC held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and Grand Opening party on September 10th, 2015. Both events were huge successes and truly memorable experiences for everyone involved making The Lincoln, downtown’s hottest new community!
The Ribbon Cutting ceremony started at 11:00 a.m. in front of the entrance to the community. Cheryl Brock, the Vice President of Operations, opened the ceremony with a speech thanking the city for their gracious support as well as all involved in the building’s development and construction. The President and CEO of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, David Diaz touched on the importance of this community as well as the professionalism and hard work of the Banner corporate team and the site staff. Eugene Weeks, Raleigh City Council member, had wonderful words to say about the revitalization of the Moore Square district and The Lincoln’s part in this process. Finally, Nicole Kincaid from Cause for Paws (CFP) of North Carolina spoke about the partnership between The Lincoln and Cause for Paws to assist unwanted pets in finding their forever homes.
Following the speeches, the ribbon was cut by none other than the Lincoln’s canine ambassador Molly! She did such a wonderful job and stole the show. What a cute puppy and success story for CFP of NC! To raise money and awareness for CFP, attendees and dignitaries participated in a social relay entitled, “Tag, You’re It.” Hargett street was lined with Lincoln supporters snapping a picture of the person next to them and tagging them on social media with #TheLincolnRaleigh and #CauseForPawsNC. Banner happily donated $1,500 to Cause for Paws and shelter dogs and cats of Raleigh. No one left with an empty stomach thanks to Dickey’s Barbecue as well as Unleashed, a local pet store who provided boutique pet gift bags.
Later in the evening, the Grand Opening Party personified the theme “Downtown, Discovered.” Guests pulled up to the entrance of The Lincoln greeted by a complimentary valet, red carpet, and champagne at check in. Everyone had tons of fun posing with custom props in front of the Lincoln Step and Repeat. Then they were whisked away throughout the community experiencing the Lincoln Lifestyle from Raleigh’s hottest restaurants, spirits, indulgences and culture. The clubroom was hopping all night long with desserts from Lucette Grace and domestic and local beer and wine from The Architect Bar and Social House. The breezeway enticed the senses with flavors and aromas from Sitti and music and entertainment provided by DJ K Stones. Guests were surprised when they entered the yoga studio and encountered . . . puppies! Cause for Paws brought pets in need of adoption to melt hearts. Each one of the model apartments showed off how much fun living at the Lincoln can be with a thumbprint art project and delicious food from the Raleigh Times and Gravy.
But the fun didn’t stop with just one floor! Everyone made their way up to the top floor of The Lincoln for more food, spirits and socializing. The large two bedroom apartment displayed the raffle grand prize, artwork from local artist Adam Cave, and iconic BBQ from The Pit. Jaws dropped in the one bedroom loft apartment as guests sipped the signature cocktail the Honest Abe (Thanks Green Light), nibbled on divine chocolate truffles from Videri Chocolate Factory and basked in the view of the Raleigh skyline at night.
This was a night to be remembered! Over 200 guests discovered all that Downtown Raleigh has to offer as well as a day in the life at The Lincoln Apartments. Check out all of the pictures from social media below from this amazing day. More pictures will be added later from our photographer, Banner’s own, Tina Pater. Thank you to our party planning committee, event volunteers and Clairemont Communications for the work, time, insight and execution of the Lincoln Grand Opening.
