SLAA Members Are Angels!
Our members and their residents have been busy little Angels’ this summer, collecting an incredible amount of health and wellness items and school supplies for our Angels’ Arms families. There wasn’t much room to move in the SLAA office for quite some time! Our friends at Angels’ Arms and their families were delighted. The kids had so much fun choosing everything they need – crayons, markers, pens/pencils, folders, glue sticks, notebooks, erasers, rulers, protractors, and even backpacks to carry everything!
In addition, members have been involved in small renovation projects at the Angels’ Arms South County Home. Scott Boonewith Banner Property Management and Ken Fritsche with HD Supply, and Chris Dalton, Maintenance Supervisor at Richardson Place Apartments are spearheading this effort. TheSouthCountyhome will have new cabinet fronts, new basement door, window wells, new screen on their porch, and the closets are getting a facelift as well – all new shelving. Many thanks to everyone making a difference – Mandi Randell, The Lipton Group, Amy Hoff, Consumer Collection Management, Anna Rohlfing, Dominium Management, and Kristen Whiteside, MyNewPlace.
Lastly, the Bowling Social raised a whopping $2800.00 for Angels’ Arms. The Community Awareness Committee will review the Angels’ Arms wish list to determine the most effective way to utilize these funds. It goes without saying, the event was sold out, 48 teams registered, $400,00 worth of Mystery Balloons were sold in a matter of minutes, and Dave Elliott hit the alleys to sell 50/50 Raffle tickets, raising another $150.00. What an amazing group of members we have!
